Der Fischfang hat der Provinzhauptstadt Vigo seit dem 19. Jh. ein enormes Wachstum beschert, sie besitzt heute den wichtigsten Fischereihafen Spaniens und die dazugehörige Industrie. Im alten Hafenviertel El Berbés, das vor der Transantlatikmole liegt, sitzen Liebhaber von Meerestieren an der Quelle. Unbedingt ansteuern sollte man die drei vorgelagerten, zum Naturschutzgebiet erklärten “Islas Cíes”. Hier kann man an herrlichen Stränden baden und nistende Möwen, Kormorane und Fischreiher beobachten.
