Mellerud liegt einzigartig zwischen den kilometerlangen Sandstränden des Vänern und dem sagenumwobenen Wald des Kroppefjäll, in dem es 250 kleine Seen und Moore zu entdecken gibt. Und es ist gar nicht ausgeschlossen, dass dem Spaziergänger westlich von Mellerud Elche oder sogar Luchse über den Weg laufen.
