Wenn man im Hafen von Mgarr einläuft, bietet sich ein idyllisches Bild – knallbunte Boote schaukeln unterhalb des Fort Cambray im kleinen Hafenbecken. Sehenswert ist Gozos Hauptstadt Rabat, die von der weithin sichtbaren Zitadelle überragt wird. Innerhalb der Mauern befinden sich u. a. die Kathidral Santa Marija, die vom bekannten maltesischen Barockbaumeister Lorenzo Gafà 1697 entworfen wurde, das Archäologische Museum und das Crafts Center mit einer Ausstellung über gozische Handwerkskunst. Wer auf dem Bastionsring um die Festung herumspaziert, wird mit schönen Ausblicken auf das Gassengewirr der Unterstadt belohnt.
