Über dem benachbarten Aschach thront die Ruine Schaunburg (Mitte des 12. Jh.) , von deren Aussichtswarte man einen weiten Blick über das bewaldete Granitplateau des Mühlviertels im Norden und die Hügellandschaft des Innviertels im Süden genießt. Die einst größte Burganlage Oberösterreichs begann seit dem 17. Jh. zu verfallen, bietet aber immer noch einen imposanten Anblick.
