Der Ort Fumay war ab dem 12. Jh. bekannt für seine Schieferindustrie. Die letzte Schiefergrube wurde allerdings 1971 geschlossen. Sehenswert sind die Gemeindekirche Saint-Georges aus dem 15. Jh., das Schloss von Comtes-de-Bryas (17. Jh.) und die pittoreske Altstadt.
