Several hundred boats have been produced. The Dufour 35 is built by the French yard Dufour Yachts S.A.The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. The interior is like many other boats made of mahogany. The boat is equipped with 3 cabins, 8 berths, a galley and toilet facility.The Dufour 35 is equipped with a finn keel. The finn keel is the most common keel and provides splendid manoeuvrability. The downside is that it has less directional stability than a long keel. The keel is made of iron.Well-balanced and quick, the 35 Classic is one of the lightest cruisers in her class, displacing just 4.5 tons. But she’s sturdy, too – Dufour did not skimp on build quality. A combination of moderate freeboard, pleasing sheerline, low coachroof and reverse transom make her easy on the eye. The deck layout works well, although the non-slip surfaces could be grippier.
