o The X6.5 hull is a composite construction, moulded in a female tooling. X-Yacht hulls are built using the latest construction technologies with a vacuum-infused, post-cured epoxy construction. o The hull is a full sandwich construction, using foam core, biaxial E-glass skins and local carbon-fibre reinforcements. o Solid, monolithic laminate is used in areas around the keel structure, rudder stock bearings, around each through hull fitting, stern seal, P-bracket and thrusters. o Light Gray hull, o Structural Bulkheads: o All structural bulkheads securely bonded to hull and deck. All bulkheads of a sandwich of marine plywood and PVC core in thicknesses between 20 and 30 mm. This gives a better strength as well as good soundproof properties. o Watertight Bulkheads: o At the forward end of the boat watertight bulkheads separate the anchor compartment, sail locker and interior accommodation for safety and reassurance in the event of a collision. The rib garage is also separated with watertight bulkheads for safety in the unlikely event that the seal around the transom door fails. Deck o The modern, minimalistic lines of the X6.5 provide a sleek profile and clean deck, spectacular panoramic interior views with a great connection to the outside. o The deck is a hand lay-up, full sandwich construction. The foam provides strength and insulation. The deck uses a polyester resin system and the skins are mainly biaxial E-glass layers with local carbon fibre local reinforcements. o Vacuum applied laid teak deck on side decks, coachroof, all seating, cockpit sole and the inside of the transom door / swim platform. Teak is nominally 9mm thick and has black caulking. o The deck features flush Solimar glass deck hatches that provide plentiful light into the forward cabin(s). Flush Solimar glass deck hatches are fitted on the centreline of the coachroof which provide light and excellent ventilation to the saloon. The sprayhood can be folded and fully hidden in its designated storage on the coachroof. Sail Handling o Easy sail handling is key on this size of yacht, and every effort has been made to make it possible to sail this yacht safely with a minimum of crew. The Reckmann electrical furling system for carbon Mainfurler boom makes hoisting, reefing and lowering of the mainsail a pushbutton operation. The 106 % jib on the forestay and also the inner jib are both on Reckmann electrical furlers and can be operated from both steering pedestals. In the unlikely event of an electrical problem, the furlers can both be manually operated. o The sheets and halyards are operated by 4 oversized Harken 980 electrical winches. The cockpit layout with the winches placed just in front of the helm station makes communication and co-ordination of the sail handling easy, and also away from the guest area if there are children or friends that are not taking an active part in the sailing. o The Code sail can be set on an electrical Reckmann furler in front of the forestay and is hoisted on a 2-1 halyard with the electrical Harken self-tailing winch at the mast step. o For ease of use the hydraulic backstay, vang and jib halyard tensioner can be operated by an electrical driven Reckmann push button panel, with a manual back-up. o For trade winds sailing there is a carbon spinnaker pole stoved on the mast that lets you set up a poled out jib or use a regular spinnaker Sails o To keep the boat easy to sail, it is important to have sails that gives you a stable shape across the wind range, and that also are durable. The suit of 3Di sails from North Sail offers these qualities as proven by racing boats from both the Volvo Ocean Race and Vendee Globe that uses sails made in the exact same way. o Mainsail: North Sails with six full length carbon battens is made 3Di 760 Endurance specifications. o 106 % Jib: North Sails with four vertical battens is made 3Di 760 Endurance. o Inner Jib: North Sails with three vertical battens is a 3Di 700 Ocean in 2021. o Code sail: North Sails Code 0 in Norlon 250 cloth furled on a Equiplite torsion cable. Mast & Rigging o The Hall Spars carbon three spreader keel stepped mast with rod rigging gives you a stable and light rig that can be set up with more than 30 tons pressure on the mast jack to ensure a well tuned rig. The mainsail is furled into the V-shaped Mainurler boom where there is an integrated mainsail cover. The rig is complemented with Reckmann furlers and hydraulics that are all push button controlled for ease of use for shorthanded sailing. o The spars are all in clear coated carbon to give a contemporary look. o The recently added spinnaker pole that is stowed vertically on the mast and the conversion from a free flying 2:1 inner jib stay to a permanent reefable Reckmann inner jib will add to the boats potential as a easy handled long distance yacht. o The mast is also equipped with led lights on the spreaders and a deck flood light in addition to the masthead tricolour navigation and anchor lights. Keel o The keel is a 3.00 m (light ship) cast iron fin with a lead T-bulb. Ballast weight of the standard keel is approximately 10 600 kg, on this yacht it is added another 800 kg of lead in the bulb to further increased stability of an already stiff boat. o Keel Structure: o The keel structure consists of a hot galvanised, high strength steel frame which forms an integral part of the hull structure. It is capable of absorbing loads from keel, mast and rig as well as shock loads in the event of grounding. It is also strong enough to lift the yacht using the centre hoist point. Integrated limber holes to allow water to run to central keel bilge. Hatches / Portlights / Ventilation / Sprayhood o The grey tinted windows in the coachroof are custom made by Lewmar. All hatches are upgraded to Solimar Glass hatches and has mosquito nets and night blinds installed. Portlights are integrated in the windows above the galley and in the shower compartment on starboard side aft. There is a further six portlights integrated in the hull to increase light and added feeling of being connected with the sea. o The new sprayhood is made in a lighter shade of grey than the original in order to reduce heat and give a lighter feeling. There is three custom made adjoining pieces that can be attached to increase the shelter from rain and wind. On sunny days the whole sprayhood can be folded away under the teak cover to increase ventilation and give flush look. o The two solid carbon biminis covering the forward cockpit and the helm station provide much appreciated shadow for crew and helmsman. The biminis have solar panels on top that gives an extra potential of 1440 watts. o There is custom made covers for the pedestals, winches and the varnished cockpit table. Guard rail / Anchor / Stainless Steel Fittings o Anchor and mooring equipment o For all yachts with extended cruising ambitions, anchoring is an important part of the yachts capabilities and is of course also important for your safety. The upgraded 45 kg Ultra stainless steel anchor is neatly stoved in the carbon bowsprit with a 100 meter 12 mm chain. A strong 2300 watt winch that can be controlled from the bow or by the control panel with chain counter at the helm gives you power and control. o Mooring a yacht of this size sometimes involves a lot of forces, so you need to have the proper functional equipment but at the same time you want to keep it stylish. The X6.5 comes standard with foldable Nomen Cleats fore and aft, but here you have two additional cleats midships and a retractable Sanguetti mooring winch on the foredeck to help. A set of inflatable fenders that can be filled with the internal air pressure pump in the starboard aft locker. o There is a freshwater hose in the anchor pit to wash off dirt and salt in order to keep everything clean and in good working condition. ACCOMMODATION Saloon: o The light oak interior with carbon and stainless-steel details and the extensive natural lighting, this yacht was a big change from the earlier X-Yachts of similar size. With addition of advanced LED lights throughout it is both incredibly good looking and functional with its red night lights that eases strain on the eyes when you sail offshore passages. o Saloon: o The view through the 270 degrees grey tinted windows gives you a superb connection with the outside when you are standing, sitting down you see the outside environment through the hull windows. The next thing you will notice is the matching light grey custom made leather cushions and the eye-catching bookshelves with its discrete lighting. Then the contrasting dark walnut floorboards with the continuous veneer from the aft cabin all the way through to the front enhance the feeling of great handcraft combined with exceptional quality materials. o The spacious U-shaped sofa with the foldable table that can be raised for comfortable dining or lowered and folded in to be used as a coffee or tea table. There are two foldable Dedon chairs in matching leather that can be used in the saloon or in the cockpit if and when needed, when you are under way they are neatly stored in front of the saloon by the handrail stainless steel with carbon details o For entertainment you can choose to watch the electrically elevated Samsung 32” TV screen that hides behind the sofa, or use the Bang & Olufsen audio system that gives you excellent sound. o As should be expected on a yacht of this size and with ocean going capabilities, you also find a good sized navigation table with access to all the B&G navigation tools you need and control of electrical systems, watermaker, generator, air condition, heater and communication equipment like WiFi/4G-5G, VHF and Satellite phone. Galley: o You would usually call it a galley in a boat, but this is really a kitchen with all you need to prepare the food that the owner and crew desires. It all starts with a customised stainless steel work top that has an integrated freezer top and sink. Then you have full 5 burner gas oven, a front opening fridge, two large fridge drawers, a Miele coffee machine, microwave oven, a cooker hood and a dishwasher to complement it in addition to lots of work space and cupboards to store everything you need of food, crockery and cutlery. And then you might think there couldn’t be anything more you need, you notice that there is Qoukker with instant boiling water on the tap in the sink and for your long distance sailing you can use the trash compactor to reduce the storage of trash to a minimum. o With the open access to the saloon the cook is not left out of social talk in the saloon, and the windows over the top gives a light and airy atmosphere that makes it a joy to make food. Owners cabin: o Going all the way forward through one of the eighth custom made clear carbon fibre finished doors with door handles in steel and even more carbon details, you find a light and exclusive looking owners cabin. You have drawers and cupboards in the same light brushed oak as you find throughout the yacht, there is bookshelves with discrete lighting and also a 32“ Samsung flatscreen for viewing a movie before falling asleep on the spring mattresses. o There is direct access to the forward bathroom with its custom-made Corian white wash basin and shower compartment that both has exclusive Dornbracht taps and mixers in contrasting matt black. The fresh water flushed Tecma toilets adds to the feeling that everything is a step above the ordinary. Forward cabin / workshop: o Every sailor that has been on extended cruises know that you need to have the equipment and also carry an assortment of spares to make repairs of just about everything. So the original double bunk beds have been rebuilt to have drawers filled with professional Würth tools, and space to store 10 or more boxes of spares. If you need an extra bunk you still have a mattress stoved against the topside that you just fold down and is ready for use. For ventilation you have the glass Solimar hatch, but as everywhere else in the boat you got both an electronically controlled air-condition and heather outlet to be used at either end of the temperature scale. Starboard aft cabin: o A wide double bed with spring mattress for the best comfort, wardrobe and drawers. It is ventilation through two hatches and also air-condition and heater that can be regulated to the guests desire. There is direct access to the large aft bathroom with the same luxury details as the forward bathroom. The electrical Tecma toilet can be switched to use salt water in the unlikely event of a fresh water shortage on board. Port aft cabin: o Here you have double bunk beds that is ideal for children sharing the cabin, and also makes good beds for use at sea with the custom made lee cloths. The light oak interior and lighting gives it a spacious feeling, and again ventilation is well taken care of. o The cabin has a full sized Bosch washer/drier that is concealed in one of the cupboards. Engine room: o The engine room is designed to offer superb accessibility to the majority of the systems on the boat. The engine, generator, shore power unit, inverter, and many other systems are located within the engine room, accessed through a door in the aft port side cabin. o An access to the service side of the engine (port side) is provided through a removable panel. The companionway steps can be raised on self-supporting gas struts to offer truly impressive access to service the engine. o The engine support beams and GRP engine room liner form an enclosed engine room sump, which is separate from the rest of the boat, to make it easy to keep clean. Dinghy garage, Bathing platform and Gangw o Another important part of the daily life onboard is to have a good dinghy that is easy to use. On this yacht you have access to a light RIB dinghy in the garage behind the hydraulic transom door. The AER Marine RIB with its solid aluminium bottom and a foldable transom for its 15 Hp engine rolls in and out with help of a remote controlled winch. Garage has room enough to store SUP board and whatever else you want to bring. The garage is sealed off from the rest of the boat so no water can enter into the interior. o For bathing or entry from dinghies you use the large remote controlled transom door and you get a great platform to dive from and enter again by using the bathing ladder. The transom door is covered in teak to give you a comfortable floor and you have an freshwater shower at hand. o Furthermore, there is a fully retractable Carbon Gangway on the starboard side of the stern for use when moored stern-to. There is LED lights and carbon stanchions to complement it and make boarding easier. With the remote control you can retract it when leaving the boat to make it difficult for unwanted visitors to enter the yacht. SYSTEMS Engine o Engine: o Yanmar 6BY3-160, 6-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. Maximum power output is 117 kW o (160 hp) at 2800 rpm. The engine is mounted to the hull structure using vibration reducing shock mounts. The propeller shaft is coupled to the gearbox with an aqua drive to reduce vibrations. o As standard, the engine is fitted with a 12V / 150A alternator for charging the engine start battery. An additional 24V / 90A alternator is also fitted for domestic battery charging. o To make handling in tight situations easier there is electronic throttle control is mounted on both helm pedestals. Plumbing o A comfortable life onboard requires a lot of water in a modern world. With literally a thousand litres of water stored divided on three stainless steel tanks you should be well taken care of. The hot water boiler is a generous 75 litres size that allows both showers to be used simultaneously. And if you go out on extended cruising or prefers to be away from the marinas you have a Newport 700 from Spectra Watermakers that can give you 110 litres an hour. o If you or your guests want a fresh water rinse after a swim there is a shower on the stern with a hot and cold mixer that can be used both in the cockpit or down on the bathing platform. There is also high pressure fresh water hose in the bow to clean the anchor equipment and deck. o The grey water is collected in a 350 litres tank that can be discharged in a controlled way to avoid spoiling the fun for those taking a swim near the boat. The toilets have holding tanks that can be discharged into the sea in open waters or through deck openings. Electrical o There is of course a lot of energy involved in the running of a yacht like this so you need to have ample storage and energy making capabilities that are well thought out and with the proper hardware. To make everything compatible and easier to maintain it is a full Victron system. The main systems run on 24 volts and the house batteries are modern Lithium with 720 amp/h capacity. The way that these batteries just swallows whatever you charge them with means that you at least halves the charging time you are used to. The battery banks for the thrusters, furlers and winches are placed for and aft and consists of six batteries made to take high loads under short periods. In addition you have two separate starting batteries for the engine and generator, but these can be coupled together if needed. There is of course an inverter that lets you run the regular 230 V based equipment like entertainment system, coffee machine, microwave and the 230 V outlets that can be used to charge laptops/iPads or use hairdryers in the bathrooms. For convenience there is USB outlets that lets you charge phones and gadgets in all cabins. o To run the heavier 230 V based equipment like air-condition, washing machine and dish washer you use either shore power or the powerful Fischer Panda 15000i generator with up to 12-kilowatt output. o On the sunny days you will find that the twelve solar panels on the top of the bimini will keep your batteries happy and more or less keep up with your daily usage of electricity. This gives you less hours with a running generator, engine or shore power and at the same time lowers your carbon footprint which is all good. o As always the electrical systems in all X-Yachts use thinned cables and are well documented for a long life and easier service. Electronics o The sailing instruments in this boat could hardly be any more comprehensive. It has a B&G H5000 central processor with input from a motion processor, speed, depth, forward scan, a caron fibre vertical masthead unit and AIS. Then there is a H5000 autopilot with control panels on both steering pedestals. To get all this information displayed where you need it there is 12” brand new B&G Zeus 3S at both pedestals and at the chart table, and also B&G new Nemesis 9” displays integrated in the cockpit coamings that are fantastic for giving the helmsman all the wind and navigation information to do his job. If this doesn’t give you everything in sight you have the 5 large 30/30 displays mounted on the aft side of the mast. If visibility is low you have the latest B&G Halo 20+ radar that not only tells you what is around you, but also identify objects that are moving towards or away from you which is a great feature. When anchored there is a 7” Zeus 2 plotter in the owners cabin where you can watch what’s happening and turn on or off any alarms. o In the unlikely event of system failure, you got a spare H5000 Autopilot processor ready setup with its own spare hydraulic ram, rudder sensor, control panel and a 7” Zeus 2 plotter. As this is on a separate electrical circuit, it should not be affected by any electrical incidents or mishaps on the regular system. o The sailing instruments are connected via NMEA 2000 network and this also gives you information on status of all the tanks for water and fuel, with additional information displayed on Victron GS 50 Touch display at the navigation table, where you also get information about the charging from engine, shore, generator and/or solar panels. The Victron system can also be monitored through the internet when you are away from the boat, and also be used to get professional advice in case of any service needs. o To protect your valuable yacht there is a SuperSail Marine Alarm system installed. This gives you updates to your phone when you are away from the yacht and report any problem. Thrusters o With its twin rudder configuration a stern thruster is almost a requirement in addition to the more or less standard bow thruster. As X-Yachts always have an eye on the sailing performance of the yachts, the thrusters are retractable so they don’t disturb the waterflow when sailing. o Control is made easy with doubling up of the controls so you can handle them from both steering positions. To further increase flexibility you can also use a remote control. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION o Curently based in Sanremo, Italy, ready for handower to new owner.
