Candela C-8 (Polestar battery) is the second generation electric hydrofoil built by Swedish Candela.
The airfoil technology saves 85% energy compared to a planing boat of the same size.
The consumption is at 22 knots of approx. 1.25-1.4 kW/nautical mile. If you have your own jetty and an hourly rate, the operating costs will be negligible.
Sailing/flying a foiling motorboat is something very special and must be experienced. The engine is located at the bottom of the aft ruder/wing, which eliminates engine noise. You travel above the waves and the journey is therefore very quiet and restful. The boat is 8.5 meters long and has a very luxurious cabin in the bow for two.
All instrumentation and control of the boat takes place on the integrated screen. There you will find everything from charts, route planning, radar, control of charging, driving data, heating, control of equipment and lighting.
There is also a WC, cooler-drawer, defroster/heater, table, and a shower on the aft deck for your convenience.
On this boat, the T-Top is completed with a custom-made canopy/windshield between roof and windshield that can be easily removed. This is a great shelter in vindy and rainy days.
Charging takes place from AC 1-Phase 8A up to 3-phase 16A depending on what the bridge can handle.
CCS DC charging is also built in.
