Newly launched, fully-optioned 2023 Duchy 27 with running-in hours on her Nanni 200hp diesel. An unmissable opportunity to beat the waiting list and take immediate delivery at a notable saving over new build price.FURTHER BROKER'S COMMENTS:Delivered in 2023, DANAE is hull no.31 of the hugely popular Andrew Wolstenholme-designed Duchy 27 from Cockwells Modern and Classic Boatbuilding in Mylor Bridge, Cornwall. The perfect day boat, weekender, or gentleman's launch, the Duchy 27 has quickly developed a cult following amongst those who appreciate its combination of timeless elegance, all-weather seakeeping abilities, semi-planing performance, and outstanding build quality. Following this design's enormous success, Cockwells has extended the Duchy range from 21ft to 60ft, resulting in a full order book and lengthy waiting times for new builds.Commissioned by serial Cockwells owners, who have owned several other boats from the builder, DANAE has every possible option ticked plus a lengthy list of additional customisations, extending her base price by circa £60,000. Her specification highlights include:-
CE Category-C Andrew Wolstenholme design
GRP construction with dark blue topsides finish
Flexiteak 'weathered teak with grey caulking' synthetic laid side decks, cockpit sole and bathing platform
Epoxy treatment and Coppercoat antifouling system

Stainless steel anchorWith just one owner since new and approx. 10-hours run on her Nanni 200hp inboard diesel engine, DANAE is essentially still a new and unused boat. Originally delivery in Dublin, she will be transported by road to her owner's primary base in the Solent during August 2024, where she will then offered for sale complete and 100% 'ready to go'.CE Certified and available inclusive or exclusive of VAT, she is an ideal option for both UK-based and international buyers. Her owners wish to consolidate their sizeable fleet, hence her sale at a considerable saving over her replacement cost.MANUFACTURER'S COMMENTS:A weekender for two or a picnic boat for up to six guests, this classic gentleman's launch combines the luxury of a day boat with the sea-keeping qualities for which our boats are renowned. What's more, we can customise it to your exact specifications and include any number of optional extras. Rich teak decking, exquisite bespoke joinery, custom-made stainless steel handrails and leather seating add a touch of luxury to the expansive cockpit that provides room to relax and entertain. Swimming is made easier with a walk through transom that leads to a bathing platform and ladder. Recline on the waterproof upholstery to dry off in style. Take a hot shower. Add the cockpit cover when skies turn grey. Sip something chilled from the fridge whilst you prepare a gourmet supper on the gas hob. The possibilities of life aboard a Duchy 27 that is uniquely yours are endless. An extremely versatile launch that can comfortably navigate the coasts of England, France and the Channel Islands, even in rough seas, the Duchy 27's potent 200hp diesel engine also offers excellent fuel efficiency.PRESS REVIEW:"Let's imagine you're a typical Duchy 27 buyer. Or perhaps you're reading this because you don't need to imagine.Chances are that you will have owned a sizeable yacht at some stage. Now the time has come for something smaller. You don't throw money around and you certainly want to receive value for what you spend, but you're not interested in budget offerings. You want a motorboat, whether or not you have sailed all your life. You want to be able to step aboard, turn the key and go.It can't be just any motorboat, however. It needs to be built and finished to a high standard, to look the business and to be capable of handling wind and waves. Especially if switching from sail to power, you're not prepared to be confined to port just because 20 knots of wind happens to be blowing from the direction you want to go.Your new boat needs to be a proper, seagoing gentleman's motor cruiser; the sort that a proper seagoing gentleman - or lady - would be proud to own, whether punching across Lyme Bay or pottering up the Carrick Roads. If this sounds like you, it's likely that the Duchy 27, built in Cornwall by Cockwells, will be at - or, at least, near - the top of a very short list.Cockwells Modern and Classic Boatbuilding is a boatyard with a difference. Dave and his team build, sell and restore yachts of classic heritage, both sail and power. The yard is perhaps best known among sailing folk for building pilot cutters, several of which have been launched in recent years. If you prefer, you can have a Morecambe Bay Prawner in cedar strip. Should you happen to own a classic America's Cup yacht in need of a rebuild, that's no problem either. This is a yard where traditional boatbuilding skills are married with aramids and composites. While a Bristol Channel pilot cutter might be in larch over oak frames, the Cockwells custom motor-launches and super-yacht tenders (the latter as supplied for ferrying VIPs around the yacht show in Monaco, for example) are just as likely to use epoxy-infused e-glass foam sandwich for the hull and hand- laid teak on the cockpit sole.
Amid this synthesis of old- school craftsmanship and hi-tech composites applied to custom projects, it might seem surprising to find a production boat with a hull in conventional solid GRP - not that the Duchy 27 is a production boat in the normal sense, because no two are quite the same. And, of course, she's built in the style of a Cockwell's launch, employing the same shipwrights' skills and attention to detail. Nonetheless, the Duchy 27 is as close to production as you will find in this particular corner of Cornwall."Extracts from Practical Boat Owner MagazineSPECIFICATIONS
