Summary: ENTROPY sale price (-50%) = €162,000 (New boat and equipment price (incl. VAT) = €325,000) - see attached detailsL30 7 “ENTROPY” is being presented for sale. VAT paid. Let's discuss the L30 experience and ENTROPY’s unique equipment and journey so far!For those new to this Class, the L30 is like the Porsche of sailing. Her top recorded speed is 25 knots. Whether launching in Puerto Banus or arriving by road to Agios Nikolaos she is indisputably awe inspiring. And that's before she gets on the water and her blistering performance is revealed. You can see photos of each of these scenes in the images, actually!Consider how magical the L30 is. The L30 is trailable with a lifting bulb keel and can be launched with a single point lift. But it can also be trailer launched and the carbon composite mast can be stepped manually. There is simply no comparison between being in a marina or on chocks in a yard and being able to take your yacht out of the water, hitch her up and catch the next ferry to another country. From the perspective of cost, consider this example: Many marinas have a small crane that can lift the L30 in and out for around €100 but in Rhodes the travel lift cost €800 per lift. But the marina had a slipway costing €25 per launch and beside the slipway was a camera-monitored secure boat park costing €65 per month. So, sailing the L30 in Rhodes and the surrounding Turkish marinas cost one hundred euro per month compared to thousand of euro for a conventional yacht before even considering the logistics, costs and time of sailing it to Rhodes compared to trailing it there in a few days of fun and adventurous road and ferry trip.Another significant benefit Entropy’s journeying revealed was access. Increasingly, marinas in popular areas or lakes have no capacity whatsoever to accommodate visitors. But if you arrive with the L30 by road and the request you make is to keep her on her trailer in the park and just lift her into the water when you visit for some sailing the story completely changes. Marinas do not see a yacht consuming space with potentially no possibility to move. They are very willing to accommodate the L30 giving you affordable access you would never have otherwise. There is no comparison between what is possible traveling and cruising with an L30 compared to a traditional yacht.Entropy was bought factory refurbished from L30 in 2021. She was built in 2019 by Olympian Rodian Luka, CEO of this growing and prestigious ICRAF World Sailing International Class. The owner, Fraser Brown, Irish 49er Olympian (Athens) demonstrated the extraordinary L30 sailing lifestyle made possible by the L30s design by cruising and trailing between 2021 and 2024 from Cascais, Lisbon and Troia, Portugal; to Puerto Banus, Marbella, Sotogrande, Spain; to Izola, Slovenia; to Venice and Trieste Italy; to Lake Balaton, Hungary; and to Crete and Rhodes, Greece. Then to Constanta, Romania where now resides in the idyllic Eforie beach marina. The itinerary included two World Championships - Lake Balaton in 2021 and Slovenia in 2023. All of the distance between ports covered by road. There is a World Championship every year where about 20 owners compete for a coveted title that always includes a corinthian category. The locations are always stunning! This year there will also be a North American championship for the class. Check out the video below!Entropy has a Victron battery system in addition to its original Torqeedo batteries and motor, which, by design, opens up uncommon possibilities: Whereas the Torqeedo motor offers a few hours of steaming, the Victron batteries can run a lightweight 48v outboard for twelve hours steaming at around 6 knots. This outboard is not a substitute as a main motor, but if you are becalmed at one end of Lake Balaton you can motor all the way to the other end while other boats cannot move due to diesel engine restrictions or limitations in battery life. Also, the powerful Victron inverter can run a fridge, laptops, fans and even heating all day long with no issue. You can also plug in the Torqueedo chargers to the Victron system if really needed. The Victron and Torqueedo batteries both have solar chargers installed if total independence from the grid is sought! The Torquedo motor was serviced at Torquedo Germany in 2023, The Victron system has all mod cons, including a Cerbo GX for remote monitoring and detailed control. The plus or minus debate of electric motors is weighted towards access to the increasing number of lakes that prohibit diesel engines. The beauty and elegance of such a silent and dirty-diesel free system is a factor - an L30 sailing trip usually entails unfurling the small jib and sailing silently out of the marina. But the fact that you do not have a big diesel donkey available in a storm is also a factor. You can remove the entire Torqueedo pod by just disconnecting a few points and post it for repairs or service, which compares favorably to a diesel engine having issues. Entropy was frequently sailed in exposed locations with one non-sailor crew. The Gyropilot + Jefa Linear drive autopilot and NKE systems (new masthead sensors in 2024) handling every condition reliably.A new electric toilet was also installed in Entropy together with a black water system pumping electrically to sea when necessary. This system gives you the option to cruise in beautiful Italian, German or Swiss lakes that prohibit standard toilet systems. If you are driving by road long distance you can also stay comfortably on the boat using its toilet and showering off the transom after swimming at the beach you stopped at for the night. The convenience and cost effectiveness of this is noteworthy.Entropy carries one large and one small anchor. Again, the sailing philosophy evolved differently than traditional systems. The main anchor is a large danforth with a short heavy chain and a lead-centered anchor rope. In the sandy bay of your choice the helm simply opens the hatch behind the steering wheels and throws the anchor and chain off the stern (there is, of course, an anchor compartment in the bow if preferred). Then walk the rope end to the bow and attach it. The boat is light and easy to maneuver making anchoring another atypical experience. The second anchor is useful for rocky mooring or attaching on land if you raise the keel and rudders so that you can step ashore. Entropy has an 8 foot carbon fiber gangplank.Entropy has a set of new racing sails by UK McWilliams Sailmakers. She also notably has two sails that most boats in the class do not have: a J2 jib and A3 gennaker. The J2 (jib) is a fantastic sail for over 25 knots. This is a weapon in racing and for cruising this sail allows for very comfortable and stable upwind sailing in strong winds. The A3 gennaker is considerably more manageable than the A2 (74 vs 84 m2). It will probably rarely be used in racing (30+ knots or on a reach) but for cruising it takes all the stress out of gennaker sailing by being so much simpler to hoist, gybe, and drop - easily manageable by two people, especially with the autopilot. The code zero genoa is attached to the carbon bowsprit delivering 2.8 knots boat speed in 1.9 knots TWS.The boat's aluminium trailer is a German Harbeck - the finest trailer. It has new tires (2024) and is fitted with full length custom made bags suitable for storing sails and other tools or equipment.Optionally, a 2018 Iveco Daily L3 van can be purchased with the boat for an additional €16,000. It is an ideal vehicle for L30 towing as well as storing equipment. The Iveco is the undisputed workhorse of vans and this one has only 80k miles on its clock. It towed Entropy from Lisbon to Constanta via mountainous Greece without any issues. What is the plan? The owner recently acquired a classic wooden yacht going back to his boat building roots, and is now offering Entropy for sale hoping her extraordinary configuration will ensure that her adventures continue. Entropy will winter in her marina yard in Constanta, Romania before being prepared for sailing next April with freshened antifouling and the other usual preparations. The last antifouling was by carbon yacht manufacturer Code Yachts in Hungary in 2023 to full high-performance specifications.Entropy can be viewed by appointment.
