„Susan“ is a classic Mälar 30, a type of boat designed in 1933 by Swedish engineer Lage Eklund.
„Susan“ was built in 1940 and bears sail number 36. In total, about 150 examples of this type of boat exist. Its sleek hull with characteristic overhangs provides an elegant appearance and ensures high stability, even in challenging weather conditions. Between 2015 and 2017, it underwent extensive restoration and, despite its 85 years, is in remarkably good condition. The wooden construction, enriched with mahogany elements in the cockpit and a largely original cabin, preserves its traditional charm.
„Susan“ is equipped with a modern Torqeedo electric pod drive, which is quiet and reliable, as well as a furling jib and new sails from 2022. These technical upgrades make the boat ideal for both regattas and leisurely cruises for two. In competitions, „Susan“ has proven its performance, recently achieving second place in the 2022 Verbano Classic Regatta on Lake Maggiore.
