Shadow of Norway – A Colin Archer-Inspired Classic with Character and Soul
Previously known as Grågås, now Shadow of Norway, this solid and beautiful vessel is based on Colin Archer’s classic lifeboat design – the Svolvær type, used for RS 12–20. Among these was RS 15 Langesund II, formerly Havskaaren III.
Cecil Chr. Stephansen has refined and developed the design further, scaling the lines down to 41 feet and giving the bow a sharper entry – resulting in improved maneuverability compared to the traditional search and rescue boats.
Specifications:
Length overall: 12.58 m (41.3 ft)
Beam: 3.94 m (plus fender rail)
Weight: Estimated between 20–22 tons
This is a boat that stands out. It is significantly newer than many of its kind and, in my assessment, appears to be very professionally built. A true handcrafted hull with solid seakeeping abilities. Here you get a vessel with character, historical significance, and the potential for new adventures.
A C120 with radar is included. For an additional cost, an Axiom 12+ with Quantum radar can be included.
P.S. If you’re 210 cm tall in your socks, this might not be the boat for you.
