Bemerkungen

We are selling our BENETEAU First 42 from 1982 (“S” version with longer mast) after a marvellous journey that took us from San Remo in Italy to Sicily, and then from Sicily all the way to the Netherlands. It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to part with this dependable ocean racer designed by German Frers who has also designed many sailboats for Hallberg Rassy, Nautor’s Swan, Baltic Yachts, etc. Our 3 teenagers’ many extracurricular activities and fading interest have simply not allowed us to sail as much as in previous years and it is sensible for us to let her go until we have the opportunity to sail regularly again.

The First 42 is a very robust ocean racer built at a time when the absence of computer assisted design resulted in everything being oversized and specked to insane standards. There is actually a whole section dedicated to this particular series of First 42 in Ferenc Maté’s famous book “The World’s Best Sailboats (volume 1)”. The sailboat is registered in Dunkerque (France) but is currently berthed at the Bruinisse Jachthaven (Zeeland, The Netherlands). Her current berth would of course be available to you should you wish to sail in The Netherlands. This ocean racer is truly meant for those who want to sail further and faster than most in comfort and at a very reasonable sailing budget. The boat needs a hull scrubbing but is ready to sail.
